CME Credit Information

 This program has been approved for a maximum of 41.75 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel and is approved for a maximum of 2.00 AAPA Category 1 Self-Assessment Credits by the Physician Assistant Review Panel (workshop title: The Abnormal CBC: Keep or Refer offered July 24, 2016, 2 - 4PM). Physician Assistants should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Attendees could earn up to a total of 37.75 hours of CME credit for participating in all General Session and non-concurrent additional workshops. Please see agenda for CME hours awarded for each session.

This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live Programs and Commercial Support of Live Programs

The Sunday Workshop, The Abnormal CBC: Keep or Refer?, has been pre-approved for 2 hours of AAPA Category 1 SA-CME Credit.  Attendees can claim SA credit or, if it is not needed, can claim the credit as regular Category 1 CME Credit.

Earn Category 1 CME credits while enjoying a family summer vacation! In support of the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants’ mission, the focus of this year’s conference is to provide Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and other providers with current medical information that will reinforce their knowledge base and introduce new concepts and clinical practice skills through a cost-effective, evidence-based, and diverse educational program.  Your full registration fee includes continental breakfast each morning, refreshment breaks, lunches and access to seminars, exhibits and Social Event as noted on the brochure and ageda.  Registration badges are required for admission to all conference events.  If a spouse, guest or family member would like to join you at conference meals or audit the sessions (no credit will be given), there is a Guest Attendee registration rate available.

Hotel Information:

The Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel is the annual host for our conference.  Due to the time of year, size of the conference and popularity of the location, the block of VAPA rooms sells out quickly and staff cannot add or guaratnee any additional rooms for 2016.  Some overflow rooms were added but those have also sold out.  

Join Us for PA Night at the Aquarium! Monday, July 25, 2016 7:00PM

Join us for exclusive after-hours access to the ‘Sharks and Sea Turtles’ and ‘Restless Planet’ exhibits in the Bay & Ocean Pavilion as well as a private screening of a National Georgraphic movie in  the aquarium’s newly renovated six-story theatre (actual movie to be determined)!  Attedees will also have access to the “Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl” exhibit - a new exhibit especially popular with younger children.  

Light hors d'oeuvres will be available to snack on as you explore the exhibits as well as complimentary refreshments (sodas, water, coffee).  A cash bar will also be available.  Arrive at 6:30PM to help us cheer on the winners of the 2016 VAPA Awards.  From 6:30 - 7:00PM we will honor 5 Virginia PAs who were selected by their peers for these annual awards.  See brochure for more details!

Registration is FREE to all paid attendees plus one guest.  Attendees may register additional guests for just $10.00 a person.  Children 2 and under are free. RSVP is required.
