Joint Injections for the Primary Care Provider: Shoulder and Knee THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL
Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn how to describe the anatomical structures of the shoulder and knee and their functions. You will learn how to identify common conditions and injuries affecting the shoulder and knee joint and how to describe the potential complications of joint injections in the shoulder and knee. Practice the proper sterile technique for aspiration and injection of the shoulder and knee on a model. Participants should plan to wear shorts and sleeveless or short-sleeve shirts to this workshop.

Suturing Techniques
This hands-on workshop will cover wound care, suture material selection and anesthesia as well as basic and advanced closure techniques. The workshop will be comprised of lecture and demonstration when necessary. All participants will have the opportunity to have individual instruction and to adequately practice techniques on pigs feet.

Medical Spanish
In this workshop, participants will learn how to introduce themselves in Spanish as well as recite the days of the week, months, and numbers from 1 – 100. You will learn how to recite time relative terms and recite basic anatomical parts in Spanish, apply close-ended interview skills in the chest pain scenario, to recite screening questions for thrombolytic use and to recite Spanish terms related to the “P-Q-R-S” of pain.

EKG Review THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL
Sharpen your 12 lead EKG Interpretation skills! In a systematic fashion, participants in this workshop will learn how to interpret rate, rhythm, axis, PR, QRS & QT Intervals and ST Segment & T Wave morphology on 12 lead electrocardiograms. Participants in this workshop will learn how to distinguish between restrictive and obstructive pulmonary diseases as well as understand the pathology of each disease and the goals of therapy.
